The main builings are lit up at night...the Liver Building especially looks great at night.
You can also get good viesws from across the Mersey on the Wiiral side by Seacombe and Woodside in Birkenhead.

I love to see the buildiings lit up at night and the view from the Albert Dock complex of the 3 graces by night is quite lovely.

The radio city tower has a strange laser show at night...you can watch it change colour from blue to purple to green...very luminous....and such a strange sight so prominent in the city centre.

Haven't personally sampled the nightlife in Liverpool but there are many clubs available.
The cafe culture seems to be growing too.
Have noticed many squares being developed with cafes and clubs, especially off Bold Steet area like Concert Street.
Here there is an Aussie bar called Walkabout that looked intriguing...so if any of you Aussie VT'ers make it over heere and try out this place, let us know what its like ;-)

Even the menu had Aussie options:

Kangaroo fillet, marinated in Australian Western deser seasoning and

Crocodile fillet seasoned with lemon myrtle and macadamia spices were just two of the dishes that caught my eye.

Lively at night its was also very lively during the day (Good Friday). The sun was warm and quite a crowd had gathered here to sup a few pints.

Nightlife Spot: Playhouse

Liverpool has a selection of theatres in the city centre. The Empire, opposite Lime Street Station, holds concerts, ballets and shows throughtout the year.
There is also the Playhouse in Williamson Square for plays... around the World in 80 days was on when this pic was taken.

Nightlife Spot: Concert St

Just whilst you are here in Concert St notice the artwork known as the Tango - just on the corner near the Aussie Bar - showing two dancers intertwined in the act of the Tango, arms outstrectched.This design by Allen Jones 1984 is yet another artwork originally produced for the International Garden in Liverpool in 1984 - the yellow subamarine also came from here.
A Liverpool charity - the Liverpool art and design trust has been suporting their rejuvenation around the city.
I also like this one of an Aussie!
