If you are on a budget then Liverpool has a Formula1 hotel - a chain known across Europe for the budget conscious. Next door is the Ibis Hotel which is slightly dearer and a few more yards down the road for those on a shoestring is the youth Hostel.
Unique Qualities: Despite its cheap price - just under ?24 (price correct 2003) - Formula1 does have a handy location being just across the road from the Albert Dock.

Ok I recently had cause to book a room for a night in Liverpool for a VT friends visit. We trawled many sites - including the links from VT - and got various range of prices and availability for the same hotels. However one of the best links I came acoss was the tourist board for Liverpool. Here you can check all hotel availabiliites at good rates and also for events happening in the city and around Merseyside. I got a twin room at the Thistle hotel for £50 as opposed to £95 and even £165 quoted on other sites. Well hope its OK will report back later next month! www
Unique Qualities: Liverpool's ship shape hotel - just next to the Liver Buildings. Not a huge room and shall we say the bathroom made the most of its available space but we did get a river view and of the Crowne Plaza! Can't complain for what we paid - especially when considering that breakast (included in our price) was £12.50 each. Just one thing to note if arriving by car - there is not right or left turn into Chapel St - you have to head as if for the river then do an immediate U-turn to come straight across the road - causes much frustation if you don't realise this!

Gillybob greetings | King_Golo Tue Jul 15, 2008 17:30 UTC Hi Sandy, although it took me ages to click through all of your Liverpool tips, I must admit that this is a very informative page with lots of infos. I went to Liverpool this March and enjoyed it very much. A really cool place! | livermore2 Tue Sep 18, 2007 22:25 UTC Sandy, William McKenzie is sitting at his card table...with the winning hand. The church is St Andrew's-The Scottish Church | chrispeterson Tue Dec 5, 2006 20:38 UTC Hello You refer to the "3 Graces". I'm 50-something and I hadn't heard this phrase until a few years ago. It isn't a local, Liverpool phrase. Who started it? |
