Getting TO/AROUND: From Soth Shields Ferry Landing, departing at 1pm on Sundays a 3 hou river trip can be made on the Tyne. The accompanying guide provides an in-depth commentary into the life of the river's past and new developments such as those we saw at the quayside. We watched this river boat, the South Shields ferry "The Pride of the Tyne", as we stood on the Millenium Bridge where its trip ended and it turned round to go back.

Great pic - Thanks. Here in "Barking Town" we have the UK's 2nd largest public artwork called "Holding Pattern" - It's 70m long x 50m wide and almost 6m high. It cost £650,000 to build and only Anthony Gormley's Angel of the North is bigger. | mmyerspa Sun Jun 10, 2007 14:55 UTC
