Wirral's Highpoint

by sandysmith - last update: Jul 5, 2005

view across the Dee
Thurstaston has the Wirral country park on the coast, overlooking the Dee estuary - great place for some country tails along the old railway track down to Parkgate or along the beach for some bracing fresh air.
sandstone rock of Thurstaston
On the other side is Thurstaston Common - the highhest point on the Wirral and a great lookout post across to the Dee estuary, Liverpool and the rest of the Wirral.
Pic here is of Steve and Susan on their wekend visit to us (along with my better half). There is a trig point here and map of the Wirral at this high point

Looks like a fine area for a walk and a pint right after that. I think you should replace the Parkgate reflection photo for the good looking fella pic. ;)

Thurstaston, oh bliss of childhood! Is the icecream at Parkgate still as good?
