Visit to the Armenian Monastery A visit to the monastery island here on this small island in the venetian lagoon - just a 30 minute ride from St Marks Basin and lying immediately west of the Lido. The monastery amd its gardens form the mother-house of the Mekhitarist Order (a christian catholic order) one of the world's foremost centers of Armenian culture.
There's only the monastery here to see and its only open in the afternoon - so don't visit in the mornings! |
