Burano is one of the islands in the lagoon north of Venice. Renowned for its lace
but I was more taken with the colourful fishing houses along its canals.

Its my most favourite place in Veneto to get snap happy and look
just see how devoid of tourists these smaller canals are!

We were so happy to be able to revisit here in July 2004 with better light conditions.

I love the colorful houses, Sandy. This have even me wanting to go back to Venice. Steve's right, you should have squeezed in a pizza too. Sounds like you were starving yourself there. ;)

Wow, you ate here a lot and you didn't even go to our favourite place from the whole of the lagoon - the simple rustic pizzeria at the top of the main street (opposite one of those posh places that you mentioned).
