Travel Inspired Introspection- When I am the furthest from home....I find myself closest to "me". Away from the day to day existence, I allow myself to look at my life -- ask myself questions -- evaluate my surroundings -- listen to what I want -- and at that point, be introspective.
I think this "travel inspired introspection" may happen because of the environmental change-up and in this discord, I am forced to "turtle in" and keep a close watch on myself.
For me, this awareness is one biggest benefits I get from traveling. While I do travel for the physical beauty of different destinations, the cultural shock of strange cities, and the curiosity to set foot in exotic locations....it is ultimately the self-growth that keeps me traveling. |
