"A city reborn from its ashes" Hiroshima by muratkorman
Hiroshima Travel Guide: 368 reviews and 898 photos
Hiroshima has been hit by the atom bomb at the end of Second World War. The victims of this bomb were about 220,000 people. The city has been destroyed on a large scale and yet it was reborn from its ashes like a phoenix with the ambition and hard work of Japanese people. Hiroshima is a city that you can't avoid feeling sad about its past, but it also gives you hope for peace and a nuclear free world with continuous efforts from its mayors. I usually end up my reviews of any city I visited with "I enjoyed my stay in this city ...", but for Hiroshima I will say: I shared the pain and sorrow of Japanese people for what has happened here and I am impressed with how they managed to recover from such a huge devastation.

Great pages. I visited Hiroshima back in June as part of a tour of Japan and I was taken with what a beautiful city it was and how fascinating the Peace Mem. park and museum were, although sad and tragic- Tony from Wisconsin, USA
