  • If you don't visit Fontana di Trevi while you are in Rome, you just miss the first must-do. This beautiful fountain is a tourist magnet not only because of the fantastic architecture, but also for the story about it. You will see people turning their back to the fountain and throwing coins. The first coin you throw is for finding love and the second is for returning back to Rome for another visit. It is so lively with the tourist crowd there, but still you can enjoy your visit whether it is during the day or night. If you are looking for a good spot, try the stair ramp where you can lie down and watch the fountain and the people.

  • The Spanish steps are always crowded with tourists during day and night. It offers a nice panaromic view on Roman streets and the people shopping in that area. It is worth a visit for a rest during your shopping frenzy in Rome.

  • Colosseum is one of the outstanding architectural masterpieces in the world. I was fascinated by the movie Gladiator as Colosseum was reconstructed with digital effects. I just imagined myself being one of the spectators or even one of the gladiators fighting in the arena. Walking around the Colosseum brings that feeling back to me.

  • Pantheon is another attraction for visitors of Rome. The large dome with its middle open seems like an eye looking at the sky. I enjoy myself every time I visit Pantheon and my favorite is to watch the clouds passing by from the open part of the dome.

    Piazza Navona: A popular square

  • Piazza Navona is very popular amongst locals and tourists. At any time, you can find something interesting to see. There will be street performers, such as musicians, jugglers, pandomime artists and painting artists. It is a good spot for people watching, a favorite activity of mine : various people doing various things and watching this like a theater. This square has been attracting visitors thanks to Bernini's amazing "Four Rivers Fountain". This beautiful fountain is refreshing in the middle of the square. Sant' Agnese Church is also located here. It is a must-visit square if you happen to be in Rome.

  • This amazing monument reminds me of a big white cake. Just go up the stairs and you can see some nice panaromic view of Rome from left and right edges. The traffic in front of the square is always busy. Watch out while passing the road.

  • This used to be the gathering place for public when Roman Emperor was addressing. It is comparatively large to the other squares in Rome. The symmetry catches the eye. The fountains on both sides are perfect for refreshing your feet after a long day of walking.

  • If you prefer walking back from Vatican to Piazza Navona, Castel Sant' Angelo could be a good place to stop. The tomb of Hadrian the Roman Emperor is located here. Later it became a fortress, castle and prison during papal era. At the moment there is a museum inside. From the top of the castle you can watch Tiber river passing by and some parts of Rome. It is not a must-visit place, but if you have time you can consider.
