Motorbikes, Lots of Motorbikes !!! Ho Chi Minh City, formerly known as Saigon, is a very dynamic city living 24 hours. The population of the city including the suburbs is around 11 million people. Now just make a guess how many motorbikes are there in HCMC? Here we go : 4 million. Well, you see motorbikes everywhere in the city. On rush hours, you just see an ocean of helmets and motorbikes. The traffic is chaotic and traffic rules are made to be bent and broken here. However, there is an order in this chaos which gives you a better understanding of Zen philosophy. The streets are clean, people are very nice and friendly, life is cheap for a foreigner, food is very delicious, I can write so many reasons to visit HCMC, but I guess these are enough. You should take your time to explore the city and its neighbouring towns just like I did. |
