Travelling in Venice by boat

by stoogy - last update: May 5, 2007

Welcome to Venice

S. Giorgio Maggiore
We decide to go in Venice one saturday by boat from Rovinj ( Rovigno ) in Croatia. Boat ride is 3 hours long. We have luck, weather was very nice. Our plan was to see a litlle part of Venice, to drink coffee and by some souvenir in this beatiful city. Travel by boat was very pleasure. My wife and I were pay 60 euros for two of us.
Palazzo Ducale

Walking in the Past

We went in Venice in the Dorsoduro harbour, and then we walk without hurry to the Piazza S. Marco, the most popular site in Venice. Pallazzo Ducale and church Basilica of S. Marco are realy fabolous. The square was full with tourist. After S.Marco we were go through the old streets full of litlle coffee bars, restaurants and shops. I recommended to buy some souvenir from Murano glass. In comparition of prizes, there are highest on Piazza S. Marco and get lower when you go further. After shoping we went to Ponte San Rialto, the lovelest bridge in Venice.
Ca' d Oro

Water taxi

Water taxi is the best way to go all over Canal Grande and see a lot of beatifull palaces and bridges. This ride cost about 25 euros but it's worth.
After taxi ride we were eating in a restaurant on Riva degli Schiavoni. Then we were visit another popular sites, Teatro la Fenice, S. Moise church and Campo S. Angelo.
