After many years or dreaming and wondering in books, encyclopedias and magazines, a big chance appeared to me in September of 1996. Finally, I had arrived in Egypt. I relived the great moments of RAMSES II.
Upon my arrival at Cairo, I went to see the Light & Sound Show at Giza. This was my very first encounter with one of the world´s greatest wonder. THE PYRAMIDS. The show was something out this world thanks to the high technology. I even pinched myself, because I wasn´t so sure I was witnessing that spectacular scene.
The Sphnix of Kaphre attracted me the most, with by mystical silence. There.... she stood, proud, of course a bit changed, but with the same reflexion of power guarding the Pyramids.
This first great night was a sign from God, that this was just the begining of a great dream.
When I was a teenage, I saw the movie called "Death on the Nile River" based on Agatha Christi´s mystery novel, and there I was traspassing over the screen into a route of mysteries and adventures.
Egypt is an open-air museum. Is a cradle of one of the world´s greatest civilizations and has a recorded history that dates from about 3200 B.C.
The name of RAMSES II is hear all over Egypt. He was the greatest of all Pharoes that ever ruled on Egypt. After all his heritage is what we are able to see and admire. His vision and Engineering doesn´t let us sleep. RAMSES II cautivated all my dreams as a kid and it was a great honor to have been present upon his wonders and to himself. I stood in front of the mommie of RAMSES II and I stared at his greatness. I certain can not describe what I felt.
The journey on the Nile River started in LUXOR, passing over ancient egyptian cities from from many periods of Egypt´ history.
Abu-Simbel, what a great name for something momnumental. Abu-Simbel is the begining of the end. It is the maximum manifestation of mankind to reach the magnificence of the Gods. With this Temple, RAMSES II honored the deities of Egyptian Gods, but this time he sits side by side with them.
By looking at the whole Temple, one may ask... If this pharoeh did not have the satisfaction (Complancency) of the Gods, so that he dared to built such a momument to equal to then in the eternity.
