COLOMBIA

by viajeromaga - last update: Sep 11, 2002

<font color=#FFCC00>COLOMBIA, a country blessed by God and the sacred heart of Jesus Christ. (that how we say in Colombia).

With its two coasts (Pacific and Atlantic), three Coordilleras (Mountain chains) where basically the Andes completes its long journey.

the natural wonders make Colombia a great wharehouse of tropical products, sourronded by beautiful landscapes that have not even been touch by human hands.

<font color=#003399>But above everything, I think that the most valuable thing found in Colombia is the PEOPLE. We are hard working and we are always fighting to get a better life.

Our flag, so many times not been loved or bad seen by many countries as a symbol of violence, Its our main symbol of freedom. The Yellow, Blue and Red, identify our cultural, econmic and historic heritage and thier meanings are :

YELLOW: Represents the gold. The sun that shines for all of us, the principle of life and the light.
Represents the Ancient life of our indians in whcih the gold was only a metal representing the light of the sun.

BLUE: Represents the oceans that bath our two coasts. The Pacific and the Atlantic. Both zones are rich in culture, music and products of all kinds.

<font color=#FF0000>RED: Represents the Blood spilt by our fathers who built this great nation throughout the years. The blood split during the conquest of this Paradise.

COLOMBIA IS YOUR HOUSE AND THE DOORS ARE WIDE OPEN FOR YOU TO VIST THIS GREAT COUNTRY.

British Airways and Lufthansa don't serve Bogota anymore. Although BA code-shares with Iberia. ACES and Intercontinental don't exist anymore. Satena and especially Aires are serving domestic destinations from BOG.

Very informative page (more pics, though would be much appreciated ; )). I love Garcia Marquez and Botero. I'd love to visit your country one day.

Normally I always go to Africa, but I think I’ve got to reconsider my next destination when I see your VTpage.

Todo que puedo decir . . . ¡wow! Colombia me fascina mucho, y casi estudié allí en la Universidad de los Andes. Algún día, ¡yo sé que iré allí! ¡Excelente página!
