CHINA - Land of the Emperors from Heaven

by viajeromaga - last update: Sep 11, 2002

<font color=#ff0000>The trip to China was an incredible experience, something I had never though I was going to witness and be part of one of the most interesting countries on this planet.-

The cultural riches of China, is something that every chinese must feel very proud of, but I sensed that this pride was more coming from the westerns visitors than from the same chinese.-

The chinese have a cultural background dated from thousands of years ago and itīs amaizing to see how China has developed into one of the most powerful economies in the world.-

Where ever you travel in China, you see a lot of extremes contracts; the old and the new, the ancient and the modern, the simple and the complex, both sitting next to each other.-

The city that made the most impression to me was Shanghai. A city that has a continuous changing growth. In Shanghai has different cultural backgrounds and influences.

The shanghai with its ancient budism temples, Imperial gardens, and palaces from the imperial times, the european architecturte and culture and the modern Shanghai, which it seens that is coming out from a superman comic book. In fact, Shanghai has the tallest buildings in the world.-

China has been awarded by its history with a huge legacy of temples and monuments built by man to honor their Gods anb their dinasties that once ruled this great Empire.

Among the best preserved monuments are: The Great Wall of China, The Terra-Cota Warriors from the Qin Dinasty in Xian and The Forbidden City in Beijing of the Ming Dinasty.-

The western economies are looking toward China as one of the leading consumer of products and goods in the world.

I promised myself that I will go back to China in probably 20 years time.-
