FRANCE - Romantic, Art and Beauty

by viajeromaga - last update: Sep 11, 2002

<font color=#201DAE>Another dream come true, and it happened the first time on my way to Egypt and the second time, a year later after I visited London.

Definitively Paris is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. I felt in love with this old lady, no wonder the parisians are so proud and egocentrists about Paris.

As soon as I arrived in Paris, we both made chemistry. It was love at first sight.

Eventhough my trip was quick, I had promised to come back, and I did.

I rent an apartment in Montmartre, one of the bohemian part of the city and lived like a french-man for almost 2 weeks.

Paris was founded around the year 53 B.C. by the Gauls, on the lelt side bank of the Seine River. Later with continuous threat from the Barbarians, the habitans moved the city to Ille de la Cite and from there on, Paris has had a continous growth.

Paris is another city like many other cities that has gone through a lot of stages of development: from the foundation by the Gauls, passing through the Paris of Carlovingio, Hugo Capeto, The golden years in 1180 to 1223 when the Louvre Museum was first built (Same time as Notre-Dame and Sainte Chapelle), The Paris during the Cardinal Richelieu (Borbone Dinasty), The French revolucion, The Napoleon Dinasties, World Wars until what is Paris today.

Today Paris is the center of the art and fashion of the world and like many other cities is an open air museum.

The best way to see and experience Paris is by walking, with no schedule set up by any touring company. Get yourself a good guide book and the magazine "ParisScope" and you are ready to go.

I visited the South of France (St. Raphael, Freyus, Nice, Antibes, Cannes, The Principality of Monaco, St. Tropez and other small villages along the way) and you will find great entertaiment, peace and a good style of living.

The French Rivera irrigated by the Blue Mediterranean Sea is the perfect hide away spots for the great pleasures of life.
