Big and built up, over crowded, but buzzing. London is a fast paced and frenetic city. Anything goes and you can find virtually anything here. It's expensive, sooo busy that when you're not used to it, it can be a bit nerve wracking. It's a highly over populated place which depending on what part you go to, depends on what to expect. If you go to High street Kensington, Oxford circus and more towards the west end you'll love the shopping, designer outlets and high street lifestyle. If you go to Covent garden and Leicester square you'll find theatre land, where so many shows are on each night. For alot of the big sights you can go to Embankment and walk along the side of the Thames river. From the Thames you can go past Westminster, houses of parliament and cross over to go to the aquarium, London eye ad other great landmarks. You can do so much in London and the nightlife is amazing too. There simply is too much to explore or write about, so just decide what types of things you want to do and narrow it down, as unless you live there you'll never have enough time to fit it all in. |
| | Try and see the other areas around London. There are many different things to do in the city centre, but there's tons to do slightly away from it as well. You can go down to Wimbledon and see the tennis complex. Try going out to Wembley and seeing the magnificent wembley stadium, or popping down to Croydon and taking a look at the massive warehouses and shopping you can do. You can get around to any of these places on the tube, busses or mainline train stations. If you love the big buildings and the buzz of the skyscraper scene, go to docklands and the canary wharf. There you can stroll around and check out one of the busiest sites in London with the biggest buildings including the HSBC tower. |
| | Football clubs and arenas. London is home to so many huge football clubs, with fantastic stadiums. Not just being used for football, but other sports like rugby, American football and also cricket and music concerts etc. it's great to get out and see these places and check out the atmosphere there on a match day. In the premiership you have Arsenal's Emirates stadium, capacity of over 60,000. Chelsea have Stamford bridge with about 44,000 capacity, Tottenham hotspur have White hart lane with a capacity of about 36,000 and West ham united who's Upton park stadium holds around 35,000. You also have Fulham and clubs from the championship and lower leagues like Charlton athletic at the valley, Watford at vicaridge road, Queens park rangers at Loftus road, Millwall at the new den, Brentford, Dagenham and redbridge etc. You have the Wembley stadium with a capacity of 90,000 and the famous arch. All of these clubs have their own websites, so go on google and find the official site for each. |
