Fun. If you dont mind a short boat ride, there are an incredible amount of fun things to do here. A 3 hour Ferry will land you in nieghboring Siarigao Island, with great island views along the way. Awesome surfing at several island locations, and powder white sand beaches compliment this little known Island getaway. Other Islands are closer, and numerous. Many are uninhabited, and provide an ideal romantic getaway if you would like to negotiate a short boat ride from one of the many available boats. Just me and my honey, or you and yours, hahaha. Surigao city has a great park in the middle of town with a large pavillion for concerts, tall 200 year old trees, excellent scenery. Perfect for the Romatics, as well as the family vacation. Surigao city is littered with a variety of great dining oppurtunities, from the simple, to the upscale. Prices are more then reasonable, and you'll never leave hungry. All in all Surigao city is a great detination in itself, and an even better jumping off point for the many other activites that surround it. Depending on where you are coming from, the price of airfare may be alittle high, but you will more then make up for it in savings on your meals and hotel accomadations.

I met my asawa here in the Philippines. We decided to stay here in the Philippines, rather then move back to the USA. For me it is the best. The people here are more family reliant, instead of self suffient, by thier own design. We rely on the whole of the family, distant cousins to Nanay and Tatay(mom and dad), for things. Whatever you need you will find with a quick text message to a family member, there are no Yellow Pages here, haha. Higher education is very affordable, and very good. Housing and labor is very cheap. What more do you need.
