I know most of the vt-ers who travelled India must visited this city. Thinking of too much crowd? Oh! don't think of that too much, believe this, you'll have places for all, rich, poor, middle class, and above all it is one of the cheapest city. May be this pics may seems to be much more romantic, but trust me abroaders will found it terrible in monsoon, so better to visit Kolkata in the winters, "city of joy", work place of Mother teressa & lots more, visit national lake named 'Rabindra Sarovar', birth place of Rabindranath tagore, Victoria Memorial, river side.....slums to sudder street & lots more, but surely you can make it sure it is the best gateway location to visit Eastern India, I mean sea beaches of Orissa, mountains of Eastern Himalaya & may be the way to far south....better you experience it of your own, in case of any information needed from a local view point & some safety tips get me at amaaranirban@rediffmail.com SEE YOU THERE IN CALCUTTA.
