Travel - My Number One Hobby

by Bristol_Rich - last update: Apr 19, 2007

When I'm not travelling, I'm thinking about travel

The author, in Lille doing some research
Live to work or work to live? I work to travel. I'm quite happy to admit that I have a bit of a problem when it comes to my relationship with travelling. If I haven't got my next couple of trips planned then I tend to get techy. Bizarrely I'm happiest when I'm planning a trip as opposed to the actual process of travelling or being away itself - when I'm researching my next destination and imagining being there I'm at my happiest - how weird is that?
Sunset on the River Tambopata

The best trip of my life......

Has to be part of the round the world trip my wife and I did in 2005. We visited the rainforest in Peru and stayed that the Tambopata Eco Lodge (eventually I'll get round to building a page). I'm not particularly spiritual but I could definately sense 'something' whilst in the sheer magnificence of the rainforest. It's something I'll keep with me always. For now enjoy the picture!

The international language of sport...

Is a tremendously useful thing to have. I've discussed my interest in Rugby in Fiji, Cricket in Barbados and Football all over South America. "Wayne Rooney es un poco loco". If you even have a passing interest in Football (Soccer for any readers on the other side of the pond) then you simply have to check out a game in South America. I was lucky enough to go and see Argentina vs Peru at El Monumental, the home of River Plate. All together now "ARGENTINA, ARGENTINA, ARGENTINA!!!!!!!!!"

Just came across your page after thinking you could be someone I know from Bristol called Rich, you're not, but anyway welcome to VT! You've built some good pages so far, just don't get trapped in the misc. forum like I do! Emma.
