Dholpur is a charming little town that does not receive many visitors so prepare for many stares and smiles as well as many bouts of head wiggling!
It is located smack bang between Agra and Gwalior in the most easterly location of Rajasthan.
Dholpur is reknowned for its red sandstone and it has provided the materials not just for the more local buildings but also for some further afield such as the Red Fort of Delhi. The economy around here mostly comes from agriculture.
