Micronesia is one part of the Pacific few people, especially those from Europe, know anything about. It is one of the Worlds premier dive locations but what few people realize is that these scattering of atols and volcanic islands are home to a wonderfully diverse and facinating people who's warmth and freindliness you will never forget if you venture to their remote shores. Cultures that embrace such strange relics of the past as stone money (on the island of Yap) and stick-charts ( in the Marshal Islands).
The geography of the islands range from low-lying atols sometimes no more than two meters above sea level and barely 50 meters wide to rugged, rain-forest clad mountains as on the magic island of Kosrae.
If you are interested in people from old and facinating cultures who's hospitality is second to none then make your way there either via Hawaii, Brisbane, Manila or Fiji.
