El Obizpado
To the west of the city you could find the Palace of the Obispado, that has become a Regional Museum of History of the state of Nuevo León.

The municipality of Garza García, in the metropolitan zone of Monterrey, stand out for its modern commercial centers, restaurants, night clubs and beautiful residences. It is important try to occur a time to visit the hill of Chipinque, here so you could enjoy a beautiful view of the city of Monterrey.

Other important places to visit during a stay in this beautiful city are: the Center Cultural Alpha, that contains to the Museum of Science and Technology, a Planetarium and the Pavilion of the Universe, also of importance is the Museum of the Contemporary Art.
Monterrey's Cathedral
Around this square, there are some colonial buildings,like The 'Capilla de los dulces Nombres'(chapel of the sweet names), built in 1838; the metropolitan Cathedral and the Mercantile Bank.

Contrasting, in the center of the macro square is the monument 'Faro del Comercio' (Lighthouse of Trade), with a height of 70 meters and that it in its roof harbors a laser-ray equipment, and the light crosses the sky of the city of Monterrey every night (By the way this made Monterrey the first laser city of Mexico).

Santa Lucia River
Take a walk thru the 'Paseo Santa Lucia'
Is a artificial river at downtonw,that let you walk next to it, and relax. Is a good walk in the day, but if you want to, can be a romanitc walk if you go there by night.
You can rent a little boat too, to go over the river, is not to long, but can be fun.
Directions: Is at downtown, next to the Museo de Historia (History Museum)
Serengeti at Bioparque
In Monterrey you can find two interesting Zoo. One is in the City, named Parque La Pastora.
The other named Bioparque Estrella is outside the city, but it have a lot of animals out of gates.
In Bioparque Estrella you take like a bus and the bus rides you all around the park to let you see the differents animals running over there!!!!
Some times the animals walk to the bus so you can touch and feed them
Palacio de Gobierno
You may take a walk in the Macro Square (Macro Plaza), name that receives by being one of the biggest of world , since it has an extension of 40 hectares, which go from the Federal Palace until the monument 'Homage to the Sun,' created by the famous painter and sculptor Rufino Tamayo (you will soon find out that the people of Monterrey is constantly in search of breaking Guinness and national Records).

Cola de Caballo
A great place for a picnic is next to Horse Tails Falls, named for the wispy cascades that dive down a brilliant green face encrusted with moss. The cascades are actually three waterfalls next to each other.
Directions: Take the Carretera Nacional, after Santiago N.L. Is about 20 minutes far away by car from Monterrey.
