Live Life | Mask at Frida Kahlo's house |
One of my good friends (who also has a love of travelling) has always encouraged me to "live life." I would always argue that I was living life, experiencing things, making the most of my time. However, I don't think I truly understood what he meant until I started to travel. Traveling gives me the chance to do all the things I love to do, see theatre (if they have good theatre), experience new cultures (even within the states), eat great new foods, and meet new people. Now, I try to keep the travel lifestyle with me even when I am home. I am trying to experience life even within my own city/the areas around me. Hopefully I can live up to that. My one new rule in life is to always bring my camera. I never know when the great picture will find me. |

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens.. So besides traveling, these are a few of my favorite things.... * Laughing!!! I love those random moments that just put a smile on your face and give you the giggles. * I absolutely love live performances. I love the theatre, especially musicals. I also love live music, like going to concerts or seeing a band perform in a bar. * Music in general is one of my many favorites. * Reading is awesome. The last book I read was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I also loved Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert (good for the traveler). * Movies are brilliant. * I love yoga!!! It is a fairly new favorite, and I am wondering what I ever did without it in my life. You should try it. * And of course, meeting new people.
| | London...Everyone has a favorite, this is mine. Of all of the places I have been....London England has to be my favorite city in the world. It has everything that I want in a city and more. One of my most favorite things in the world is theatre and London has great theatre. Although I was quite sad that they don't have playbills, I think the theatre in London is great. They have so much to offer and so much to see. Since I am from San Francisco, the history of the city is not as old as London's...London is rich with history and filled with so many stories. The people are so diverse and friendly. And London is so clean. I haven't been to another big city that is so clean as London. They are constantly cleaning the streets in the centre area, its great. I love that I can spend the morning in at Camden Market doing a little shopping, then spend my afternoon in the British Museum, and then see a movie premiere in Leicester Square. And London is a great hub to travel elsewhere in Europe. It is so easy to experience life in London. |
I Heart NY Those cliche NY T-shirts are so true and so great. I love New York City. There is so much to do in New York City and so many things to experience. First and foremost Broadway, the great white way. There is no other place on earth where you can experience the theatre like you can in New York City (London is a close second, a really close second). For me, Broadway alone makes New York City the best place in the states. However, even without Broadway it is still a great place to be. Like London and San Francisco, there are a ton of things to see and do. It is very diverse culturally. But what I love about NY is that it is so unique. Although it has many similar things to other metropolitan cities, it is its own entity. There is no other place on earth like New York City and the people there know it. I love it.
| | Road Trip!! I love taking road trips...which is fairly easy in the states. Living in California has afforded me the opportunity to take several road trips throughout California and beyond. I have driven across the United States on 3 separate occasions...once round trip. I didn't stop as often as I would have liked to see the cities/sites because I always had somewhere to be. So, I would like to take a more leisurely road trip across America at one point. But I only have 12 more states to visit in the US, so that is neat. I would also like to do a road trip in Canada....a couple friends of mine were talking about that, so hopefully that happens one day. |
