Hi and welcome to our homepage which is under construction. Our names are Robert and Jameson Ray and we live on the southeastern coast of North Carolina in Wilmington, North Carolina. Wilmington is a beautiful small coastal town (not for long), with nice beaches, islands, and a quaint historic downtown district. We moved here from Newport Beach, California in 2002 to open a restaurant/bar called the Mellow Mushroom (pizza and beer), and love it. (Although we miss souther California a LOT and will love to move back one day).

We enjoy travelling, hanging out with our dogs, surfing, boating, hanging out with friends, good beer and wine, all kinds of good music, and good food (of course).

We welcome all questions and comments from anyone travelling to the US, as if we haven't been there, we certainly know someone who has.

Wow, I wish we had been on this website for the last eight years. We have been to many places, when you live in California, you have easy access to many many wonderful places, for very convenient and inexpensive travel. Living in North Carolina has limited our weekend excursions, but we still manage to get away quite a bit. We enjoy Mexico, Costa Rica, have been all over the US, and are going to eastern Europe next month for two and a half weeks, (can't wait!).

Well, we love summer around here, which means we get to hit the beach! And the best way to go is on our boat, over to Masonboro Island, a little island right off the coast. Much less crowded, it feels like you are on a deserted island (except your cell phone still works, boo!). But usually the surf is better, and working in the restaurant biz, going mid week (our days off), there is rarely more than a handful of people there.

It is also dog paradise over there, and we have two old english sheepdogs who just love it.
