Istanbul, the timeless city
i planned a travel to Istanbul from ankara, on 2006 September. the experience began when I saw the beauty of Haydarpasha Train station building, and went on in the journey to Eminonu by boat.
the weather was slightly rainy, and Suleymaniye was completely empty in the Sunday holiday. i just walked in the narrow streets of Suleymaniye under the rain, and tried to feel the breath of the old times.
"timeless city" was the motto of Istanbul in the recent commercials, and when you visit the city; you see that this is completely true.
over the bosphorus; Istanbul is the only city on the world that locates on two continents. it may be a good experience for one to get to another continent by walking.
