| From the beaches in Michemvi |
I have a kibanda (small house made of coconutleaves) on the east coast in the small village Michemvi. When I came there 1,5 year ago I was the only mzungu(white person) and the local people welcome me very well. I got the nickname "Mama Kibanda", so now everybody shouting Mama Kibanda when they see me! In 2006 I traveled 5 times back and forward to Norway! I use all my money on traveling and in june this year I am going back for the Filmfestival.
Zanzibar is Paradise, but its totally different to live there, than being a tourist - for sure. Its not ONLY easy to adjust to a culture which is totally different from mine, but I have tried and what an experience and privilege to get to know all these wonderful people! Lucky ME! Mama Kibanda
