Our 25th wedding anniversary - Calella de Mar

Reason for visit

The reason for our visit was to celebrate our 25th wedding aniversary. We stayed at the Hotel Bon Repos, it was a bit noisey as it had a lot young people staying there. it was very clean & only a short walk from the town centre.

Beaches

Main beach

The main beach is about 2 miles long but it is not sand but a very fine shale, it's a bit steep as you go into the water so you have to be careful. There are some small bars on the beach & sunbeds & umberela's for hire. On the main beach you can only go topless but if you want to go further you can go on the nudist beaches in the smaller coves on the south end of the main beach.

Nightlife

Queen Vic

There are dozens of bars & restaurants. There are a couple of night clubs, If you like kareoke the Beach boy's is one of the better one's. If you want to get a good breakfast the one to go to is The Queen Vic ( it might be changing it's name to the Scotch Corner ). There are also fast food places as well.

Cons:Busy in the summer

Buses to & from Calella Transportation (2)

Buses run thru the night back from Barcelona so if you want a night out in Barcelona you can get back to Calella easily. more travel advice

trains to Barcelona Transportation (2)

Trains to Barcelona & Gerona are regular & cheap. Fares to Barcelona cost about 3 euros and takes about an hour. more travel advice

where can i get the bus to and from calella ive been going there for years an often seen little hoppa type buses,but never new where they stop and start thanks for any help ....slimjay

you make it sound so good unlike the reviews we have been reading this will be our frist time and I am looking forward to it for the frist time.
