Beautiful Morocco, I will miss you...

by CrazyLikeThat87 - last update: Nov 26, 2007

Adventures of the roadless traveler

So I have less than three weeks left in my beautiful Morocco... this semester has been amazing, and I am sincerely going to miss the country and the people!

My upcoming trips are as follows:

December 16 - 21: Milan, Florence, Siena, Rome (Italy)
December 22-25: Tunis (Tunisia)
December 27- January 1: Paris (France)
January 1-4: ???
January 4-8: Malaga (Spain) and Chefchaouen (Morocco)
January 9-20: Prague (Czech Republic), Vienna (Austria), Bratislava (Slovakia), Budapest (Hungary), Bucharest (Romania), Sofia (Bulgaria), Athens (Greece).... phew!
January 20- May/June: Amman (Jordan)

As you can see, I'll be busy! But if you happen to be in any of these places while I'm passing through, drop me a line!

I love meeting new people when I travel; it is an absolutely invaluable resource!

10 Places I Must Visit Before I'm 35

1. Budapest, Hungary. One of my parents' favorite cities...they've always made it sound like an exciting place to visit. Planning to visit in January 2008.

2. India.

3. Mt. Kilimanjaro. Global warming...you know. I'd like to see it snow-capped before it's too late.

4. Antarctica. I'm extremely passionate about this one.

5. New York City. Sad, I know. Of all the places I've traveled, I've never made it up to the Big Apple. Perhaps this summer, if I'm not too busy working to pay for my study abroad trips.

6. Slovakia. The motherland...I've got to get back to my roots sometime!

7. Australia. Because I have to hit every continent sooner or later. And I'd like to see the endemic wildlife of the region.

8. Istanbul, Turkey. For the art and architecture.

9. Kenya. Reading Ayaan Hirsi Ali's autobiography sparked this interest...I'd really love to see Somalia too, but I'd also like to live PAST the age of 35, so I'll have to sacrifice that one.

10. Tel Aviv, Israel.

Quotes To Live By

"Own only what you can carry with you; know language, know countries, know people. Let your memory be your travel bag." - Alexander Solzhenitsyn

"Once you have traveled, the voyage never ends, but is played out over and over again in the quietest chambers, that the mind can never break off from the journey." - Pat Conroy

"I do not fear death, in view of the fact that I had been dead for billions and billions of years before I was born, and had not suffered the slightest inconvenience from it." - Mark Twain

"...the people who love only once in their lives are really the shallow people. What they call their loyalty, and their fidelity, I call either the lethargy of custom or their lack of imagination. Faithfulness is to the emotional life what consistency is to the life of the intellect - simply a confession of failure." - Oscar Wilde, "The Picture of Dorian Gray"

"Fifteen years ago she had gone under. It was nothing you could put your finger on; there had been no scene, no snap; only the slow sinking, water-logged, of her will into his. Sweet was her smile, swift her submission; dinner at Harley Street, numbering eight or nine courses, feeding ten or fifteen guests of the professional classes, was smooth and urbane. Only as the evening wore on a very slight dulness, or uneasiness perhaps, a nervous twitch, fumble, stumble and confusion indicated, what it was really painful to believe - that the poor lady lied. Once, long ago, she had caught salmon freely: now, quick to minister to the craving which lit her huband's eye so oilily for dominion, for power, she cramped, squeezed, pared, pruned, drew back, peeped through; so that without knowing precisely what made the evening disagreeable, and caused this pressure on the top of the head (which might well be imputed to the professional conversation, or the fatigue of a great doctor whose life, Lady Bradshaw said, "is not his own but his patients'") disagreeable it was: so that guests, when the clock struck ten, breathed in the air of Harley Street even with rapture; which relief, however, was denied to his patients." - Virginia Woolf, "Mrs. Dalloway"
My kitten, when she was four weeks old

In loving memory...

Of my dear and only brother.

I wish he had known how truly loved he was.
