Lamai Beach

Lamai Beach

So far my favorate place in Thailand (as a whole Island)........sand,sea and sun.
Lamai town is busy most of the day and night..... super resturants, good nightlife (the sex industry is here but not as prolific as some areas). Good shopping (although Chaweng is better). Chaweng is about 15 minutes drive away and all form of transport there is cheap........if anyone wants a rough idea of costs then send me a message.......There are lots of travel agents here so booking a trip is no problem and cheap or try renting a car (about £20 a day) or bike (about £3 a day). You can get better deals though if you book a few days at a time.
The beach here is never busy and is better than at Chaweng and the main watersport here of Jet skiing is cheap.
A few places to visit from here are The Samui Aquarium and Tiger Zoo, Chaweng beach, a day or two to Koh Pha Ngan (this is also where the famous Full Moon Parties are held), ATV tours,The mummified monk and much more...........
Chaweng Beach

Chaweng Beach

Chaweng is busy almost 24 hours a day super resturants, good nightlife (the sex industry is here but not as prolific as some areas). Great shopping, great beach (but the one at Lamai is better) so much to do. Here is a few things i tried............ go on a boat trip to Ang Thong national park, shoot a wide range of weapons, Namuang waterfalls, Big Buddha, Grandmother and Grandfather rocks, plenty of quiet beaches, Thai boxing maches, Nathon, Lamai town, Crocodile farm, Monkey theatre and don't miss the Lady boy shows especially Christie's (free entry).

So many things to do

As in most of Thailand there are so many things to see and do here and so many other small Islands to visit from here............the people are friendly the shopping is fantastic. A must place to go for anyone
