The channels

Brugge is different from Venice. Its channels are wider and buildings are separated from them by a straight road of strip of land so they do not seem to suffer the damage of water. At night, swans can be seen sliding beautifully on the waters of the channels, barely illuminated by the lanterns along the side roads. The 17th Century architecture of the nit and well kept old houses is delightful.
