Stay at Circus Circus if you have little children and book your family on the Manor since it is closer to the hotel's swimming pool. You can bring your children everyday at the pool especially when it gets too hot in the desert! Get the coupons at the front of the hotel and it gives you $4 discount on the All-Day pass for the rides at Circus Circus. It is best to buy the All-Day pass than the single passes since you and your children can go back and get to ride again. You save a lot of money that way!
Unique Qualities: The Manor House is very close to the swimming pool and the parking is just outside the hotel. You don't have to walk blocks and blocks away to get into your car. You can actually buy a lot of food outside and just store it in your car and you can always have easy access to your hotel.

On our second trip to Las Vegas, we wanted to try staying in another hotel. We wanted a hotel that is pretty close or middle of the Strip, a hotel that is child-friendly and has amenities that are inviting to families.
Excalibur Hotel and Casino came to mind. I stayed in this hotel at one point and I liked it - it is very affordable, has free shows and best of all affordable. We liked it.
Unique Qualities: The hotel has free shows for children and the restaurant has an all-you-can eat buffet which is one of the cheapest in the Stiip and great food, too.

Stratosphere is too far away. It's located at the end of the strip (street). However, there are buses that goes back and forth the city! You might like to buy a weeks's bus pass if you want to explore the different hotels in the strip. I have stayed in different hotels in Las Vegas everytime I go there. Believe me, we go there every year. Sometimes twice a year... But, I always chose hotels close where the action is. Never at the end of the strip. There are many things to see at night and walking is the best way to go. After watching all those hotel attractions at night, your energy might be gone to go back to your hotel. All you needed to do is go back to your hotel and collapse and sleep!
Unique Qualities: The Stratosphere is very nice I think. The games are exciting like the Drop. That's pretty scary. It's fun for people who are daring...

I didn't stay at this hotel but definitely I went to their restaurants, casino, glass artwork show, swimming pool and watched their water fountain show at night. I also went to their shop forum.
Bellagio Hotel is one of the five star hotels in Las Vegas. My friend stayed here and she told me that she paid $1,000 per night on their honeymoon suite. She said that the room is very spacious, has the luxury of a queen - has jacuzzi tub and a very romantic room!
The hotel has an exclusive swimming pool. The security is pretty tight at the hotel that only the hotel guests are allowed to the pool.
The hotel's attractions are the water fountain show, the artglass deco of Chahully and their lobby garden.
I like the hotel very much but since I come here often, I would not book in the hotel for reasons that it is too expensive for my budget. Also, I don't come to Las Vegas for the room but I come here for the attractions and shows!
Unique Qualities: The hotel is very luxurious and definitely a really good hotel to newly weds for their romantic honey moon!

If you have children and they love swimming, make sure to book your family at Mandalay Bay. They have the best pool so far since you can actually surf in their pool!
Located at the side of the hotel with nice tropical garden beside it, the hotel's pool is a state of the art swimming pool! There are actually waves that comes out from the back of the pool. It is imitating the real waves in the ocean! The swimming pool also has sand. They put tons and tons of sand close to the swimming pool!
Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino also has a Shark Reef. It is an aquarium where the kids can have interactive activities. My children came here to actually feel the back of a sting ray and touch the starfish and the sea urchins!
Since I didn't actually stayed for the night at the hotel, I can't really describe my stay at the hotel. My boss actually stayed at the hotel and she said that the room is fabulous and the room service is excellent. This is a five star hotel and the price changes depending on the season - peak season or low season.
Unique Qualities: The hotel is rated as a five-star hotel. It is one of the most expensive and luxurious hotels in Las Vegas. The hotel has many amenities like restaurants, gardens, spas, cabanas, swimming pools and of course, their casino.

There's nothing like sleeping at a replica of the pyramid in Egypt! The Luxor Hotel & Casino is one of the most expensive and luxurious hotels in Las Vegas.
The hotel is designed as a pyramid with pharaohs and sphinx outside the hotel. Inside at the lobby, most of the decors are Egyptian-style.
There is also a museum of the King Tutakhamum at the hotel. We visited the museum while we were there at one of our many visits in Las Vegas.
Also, there is a place at the hotel where you can have a recording of your song. There is a fee involved and I am not sure if it already increased. You can sing inside the booth and record your own song. After recording, you can have a copy of your own CD! This is very special to some people as they have their own memorable experience being a recording star!
The Luxor Hotel & Casino also has a very nice restaurant that the ambience is like eating in the old days in Egypt. The restaurant is designed with huge logs and wells. The food is really, really good.
I can't describe my stay in the hotel because we didn't book here. We just came and visited the hotel and used some of their amenities like the restaurant and casinos.
Unique Qualities: Once inside the hotel, you can see all the rooms in a pyramid-stye. The lobby is very beautiful and it looked like you are in a foreign country. Most of the staff are dressed like the pharaohs and Queen Cleopatra.
There are a lot of Egyptians stuffs inside the hotel as the motiff is Egyptian.

We didn't stay in this hotel but we just visited it. It is one of the most luxurious hotels in Las Vegas. The hotel has it's own distinctive look like other hotels. Their motif is of course, the Monte Carlo-European style hotel. The front of the hotel are steps in marbles with a huge circular fountain. The hotel is painted in all egg-shell white including the steps going to the main entrance of the hotel.
Unique Qualities: The luxurious service and the European ambience of the hotel. Lance Burton, the master magician performs in this hotel. Also, the hotel has a luxurious spa, salon, fitness club, swimming pool and cabanas.
The hotel also has the best tea emporium in Las Vegas. The Dragon Noodle Emporium is also located in this hotel.

If you decided to stay at the Circus Circus, then request to stay at the two adjacent buildings close to the swimming pool, called the Manor rooms. The only thing about this is that when someone parks, you can really hear them. The parking is very close to the rooms. Also,it takes a while to get back to the main hotel. You have to walk pass the swimming pool and cross a backstreet going to the main hotel.
They are just called Manor rooms - a glorified name for a motel. The advantage, though, is that you can have access to the swimming pool easily. Circus Circus have two swimming pools. And, they have the Adventuredome indoor theme park.
But, Circus Circus is not really that good. I would frustrate you staying there.
If your children wanted to go to a water park, then you might as well book a hotel at Greenvalley Ranch Resort (2300 Paseo Verde Dr. (at 1-215)m Henderson 866-782-9487 or 702-782-9487.
Close to the hotel is a really good community water park where there are slides, swimming pools for children and adults, umbrella water fountains, etc. It's about 15-20 minutes from downtown Las Vegas. If you rent a car, this is a great place to stay, too. Very economical and they have great buffet! (Most of the local residents come here because their casino is great and the chances of winnings are good, too!). Then, if you wanted to go to the strip, just drive. (But then again, driving is a hassle in Las Vegas! Traffic is crazy and the people drive crazily, too!)
If you are thinking of budget, the Excalibur Hotel and Alladin Hotel are not that expensive but better than Circus Circus. But, they don't have swimming pools.
Or stay at the Sahara Hotel because they have an olympic-size swimming poolwith Moroccan tiles and a sundeck.
Have fun in Las Vegas!

We go to Las Vegas every year to visit my husband's father who lives in Henderson and got to know the place better. The city changes every year. That's for sure. It's like every year, there is a new hotel being built and I have to check it out every time.
Since I have a big family and children, we always book at an affordable hotel renting two rooms at a time. The last time, we stayed at Circus Circus and I couldn't sleep. It was very noisy as we stayed at the Manor Rooms. I was very disappointed. I even complained to the management. However, my children enjoyed the pool!
Then previously we stayed at the Planet Hollywood (Alladin Hotel). It was nice as our hotel room is overlooking the Paris Hotel's neon lights. It's okay but nothing fancy. But the price we paid was very cheap.
We also stayed at Excalibur and I think because of the location of the hotel, I like it better. The rooms are very clean and the location is very convenient.
The Riviera Hotel was too smoky for me and the facilities are ancient. I didn't enjoy the hotel.
These are the hotels we have booked so far and these are my own experiences.
Hopefully next time, I can stay at a five star hotel like Mandalay, Bellagio, Wynn, Caesar's Palace, Luxor, Four Seasons.
But the thing is, I always book at a cheaper hotel and use the money for something else...like bringing my children to watch the bigger, spectacular and more popular shows. It's more worth the money!
