I have seen many pictures of the famous landmark of Paris which is the Eiffel Tower. But, there is nothing like seeing it up close.
The Eiffel Tower is more majestic at night compared to day time. Like any other towers I had seen in the world, this tower is prettier when the lights flicker and it adds color of the dark Parisian sky!
The best time to go to the Eiffel Tower, in my own experience, is at five in the afternoon. That is when most tourists and visitors are going to their own hotels and or heading back home and the streets are no longer crowded.
I came here at the right time to catch my boat ride to the Seine River and catch a glimpse of the beautiful city of Paris at night!
In the photo slate, it shows the Notre Dame de Paris, the Louvre, the Arc de Triomphe and the Eiffel Tower.
There are many things to do in Paris:
Going to the Notre Dame Cathedral
Seeing the Eiffel Tower
Going to the top of the Eiffel Tower
Appreciating the paintings at the Louvre
Seeing the famous smiling face of Monalisa
Visiting the Palais Royal
Shopping at all those malls on the streets
Checking out signature purses, shoes and clothes
Walking at the Arc de Triomphe
Eating crepes at local food stores
Trying all the different baguettes
Practicing French with the friendlier elderly French people
Watching street shows at the bottom of the Arc de Triomphe
Watching El Divo live shows at the Cinema Balzac
Sitting at the fountain at the Champs de Elysees
Watching the different fauna at the flower stores
Watch the police officers chase illegal souvenir sellers (this was fun!) at the foot of the Eiffel Tower
Dining at the best restaurant in Paris
Eating the best culinary food, drinking the finest wine and eating creme brulee
Enjoying the relaxing boat ride at the Seine River
But, the best thing I always wanted to do is to have a good dinner in France and taste their best culinary food and wine. Although our wine in Washington State is becoming famous now, nothing can beat the French wine and their French cuisine. Yet...
When I visit a city, I always wanted to go to the off beaten paths and talk to local people. I went to the local post office, road the train and the bus and just walked around where I can't find tourists anymore.
Honestly, I have to come back here because I didn't have enough time. After seeing the Louvre, I don't think I will be able to check out and appreciate each and every work of art in four days.
The array of paintings, sculptures, and collections are enormous, I don't know where to start. But, for this particular day, I only wanted to see the famous painting of Leonardo Da Vinci, the famous Mona Lisa.
Yes, I finally saw it and that made my day already. So, I had to run and go to my next hunt: the Statue of Winged Victory. And, the statue with no arm like in this picture. What is the name of it? I am sure, when I don't have cobwebs in my brain, I will remember it...
I am just sick and tired looking at all my pictures. All I can see is my head, half of my head, half of my face or just my hair! Seriously, no matter how I wanted to take pictures of myself, I just can't do it because I hold the camera in front of me and take my best shot. Most of the time, I guess where the shutter was!
Sometimes, I get lucky and get a picture of myself. So here, a kind person took a picture of myself at the Arc de Triomphe. At least I can say, I was here! Here's the proof!
- Pros:Very beautiful city, lots of things to see, lots of shopping stores
- Cons:Not much time to explore the city, very expensive and some Parisians are unfriendly and snobbish.
- In a nutshell:Not all Parisians are snobbed. You just have to know them.

Hi Greetings from County Down, Northern Ireland. I am working and staying on bothe sides of the border for 2 weeks. They use Euros in Ireland - so need 2 currencies! All the best, will send you a postcard!
Lovely Paris page, Jo. Good photos & detail. Grazie for a super tour.
Very good tips, my family's not so excited about Paris but your pages seem to attract me to it,LOL! Still thinking whether to stay overnight here on our way to Venice from London, any thoughts? Thanks and cheers dear!
Jo, Mariott Hotel on the Champs Elysees is outstanding if you can get a great price...otherwise very expensive runs about 400 Euro's a night...

Yes, this is very important -- getting you tax refund... we got a significant amount and it really helps in lowering the prices of what you bought...wonderful Paris pages, JO!
Jo, kainggit naman ang Paris VT Meets nyo. Next time, I'll try my best to join. Also, I will ask you for tips on how to organize a VT meet. I've got a nice little town here waiting to be attacked by VTers!
