Ocna Sibiului (German: Salzburg, Hungarian: Vizakna) is a town in the centre of Sibiu County, in southern Transylvania, central Romania, 10 km to the north-west of the county capital Sibiu.
Ocna Sibiului resort, known as “the Transylvanian seaside” is official opened in 1846. The saltiest lake in Ocna Sibiului is Brancoveanu Lake (320g/l), the saltiest lake in Europe. Only the Dead Sea has a greater salt concentration.
