Chaco is about 3 hours northwest of Albuquerque. The last 18 miles are dirt road and the park has no services, so bring plenty of water and food. The cost was $8.00 and half a day is plenty to see the ruins. If you like to hike, plan on spending a good day there. Above the canyon there are some great hikes that allow you to see the entire park and a great view of the ruins below. The masonry work of these ruins are what captivates you. To see the exceptional work done here that was done so long ago is amazing |
