You have to visit Ashland for so many different reasons, whether it be golf, fishing, boating, swimming, camping, site seeing, hunting, snowmobiling, crosscountry skiing, ice fishing, hiking, exploring, dining, or just to come up and meet new people. There are so many different festivities going on all the time in this small city. It's not boring. The people who live here are really pretty nice and hospitable. The city is mostly historic, and very beautiful especially with Lake Superior right at your front door. There are also so many surrounding areas that are really nice to see that have many varieties of their own festivals. When you come be prepared to bring a camera or better yet a video camcorder, never know when you'll see a live bear with her cubs crossing the road or the same with deer, badgers, raccoons, beaver, wolves, etc. It's just a very beautiful place. The only thing I don't like is cold weather. So, for anyone else like me, come up in the summer for the excellent festivities like Bay Days, Maxwell Street Days, Whistle Stop, and a bunch of other things going on. I know you'll love it once ya get here.
