The city is divided into six different areas : Canneregio, Castello, San Marco, Dorsoduro, San Polo and Santa Croce. I stayed in the Castello area, but not too far from San Marco Square. Vencie is very quaint with no cars and so the only way to see Venice is by foot or water transport. There are numerous canals, bridges, calles, etc. Plenty to see and many ways to get lost but that is all part of the enjoyment. |
