Travelling is living. Whether for business or for pleasure, travelling opens your eyes, reinvigorates you and fill you with a notion of achievement...(at least a notion if not real).
To me, visiting another country, culture, social fabric and way of life is about seeing the unusual (if time permits), going places that are key to experiencing why you went in the first place (often to get away from the usual). This doesn't have to be an excessive adventure, little things sometimes leave big impressions. And also, there's far too little appreciation and willingness to accept and respect other people and their ways with a blank sheet of understanding and curiosity.
My travel motto is NEVER COMPARE YOUR DESTINATION TO YOUR HOME. If you do and you judge others on that background...you might as well stay home to begin with.
I love travelling, but that doesn't differentiate me from anyone else in this place. Without it, life is boring and predictable, and breaking your own paradigm would be so much more difficult.
The picture is from Jervis Bay, NSW. The whitest sand in Australia and known for its free roaming wildlife. You'll find it along the South Coast of NSW (that's south of Sydney).
My Favourite Cities (though all offer something different):
Byron Bay, NSW, Australia because it has the sense and courage to disallow all chain-junk food and coffee outlets, so no Maccas, Starsucks or Pizza Hut in Byron Bay. Good onya BB!
Sydney, Australia because there are few places that rival its beauty
Hong, SAR, China for its vigor and life.
Paris, France for its culture and architecture.
San Francisco, CA, USA for its diversity and great geography.
Rome, Italy because I enjoy history and it's full of it.
Copenhagen, Denmark because that is where my roots and my friends are.
