5 Things to remember when visiting Windsor

1. If you are coming from the US do not forget your passport or your 2 forms of ID
2. Gas stations will place a $100 hold on your account if you pay at the pump
3. On Saturdays stores/malls close by 6PM
4. Dress Accordingly, if you go to the riverwalk it seems colder than the rest of the city because of the river
5. If you want to use USD, try to keep small bills because most stores I found will only give you change in Canadian.

What I did while I was there

1. Stayed at the Holiday Inn Select on Huron Church Rd
2. Drove across the Ambassador Bridge into Detroit
3. Walked from Dieppe Park to Ambassador Park
4. Spent time at the Odette Sculpture Park
5. Casino Windsor
6. Ate at Tim Hortons
7. Discovered stores close at 6PM on saturdays
8. Drove around and explored the town
9. Stopped by the visitor center
10. Shopped at Dollarama, Zellers, Canadian Tire, and a few other stores

Pros and Cons
  • Pros:Easy to navigate, close to Detroit
  • Cons:$100 hold on your account if you pay for gas at pump, stores close early
