that is always the question! | Me at the Temple of the Four Winds, Castle Howard |
Hi! I am Casey. I am currently a volunteer and a teacher with several programs: Americorps, LaLanne, and the Catholic Network of Volunteer service. I teach United States and World History. I am crazy for history and travel. I have a masters degree from the University of York, in the UK. I was studying medieval history with a focus on chivalry. I did my BA at Carthage College in Kenosha, WI. I am from the Chicago area and I am a travel, knitting, food loving addict! I enjoy bird watching, fossil hunting, old movies, bad sci fi channel zombie films, fashion, music *Classical to global pop to traditional folk; it really is whatever i am in the mood for.* I tend to collect art ceramic, stone, and glass elephants. When i am at home, i have two dogs *Nick and London.* I enjoy yoga, dance, hiking, and tae bo. I love being outdoors, but I prefer having a bed to come home to at night! My favorite animal is the naked molerat. If you look at my wish list of places i want to go, you will see most of the world is covered. I think I might as well just make everywhere I havent been green. And I love to see things, I get to see in films, documentaries, and that i read about in books. So if I know anything about the place, chances are i would at least like to check it out. I am currently living in San Antonio, TX. |
| | Upcoming Trips! Springbreak? We will see I am craving some adventure!! I am definatly thinking Mayan Ruins some where and some snorkeling. Boring for some, but brand new for me! |
Top Travel Tips 1) Pack LIGHT!
2) Plan ahead but be preapred for your plans to go out the window for a an afternoon or a day!
3) Ladies: Get a Menstration Cup. They take a good 15-10 minutes to learn to use, and they might be a little costly to begin with. But for me it paid for itself in three months and I didnt have to throw anything in the garbage! So it is eco friendly, it NEVER leaks, it is very comfortable, and I am in love with it!! I wish I had learned about them before I went to India or Africa!
4) Ladies: Having a good travel skirt is a positive. But do not compromise on style, you will regret it because you will never want to wear it! For trips these days I seem to live in my macabi skirt. I bought it from them directly they can be made into shorts, pants, and the long skirt. Though the shorts and pants look are not for everyone the price is average compared to other travel skirts. It is a bit more "hip" and youthful then some skirts. It is a thin fabric that dries very fast, can be used in a wide variety of ways. I love mine, but really the look isnt for everyone. But I refused to buy one for ages because they felt to old for me, or didnt sit on my hips but at my waist. The good news is the right skirt for you does exisit somewhere just keep looking. Plus if you do get one, you can cut down on your packing and thus accomplish Tip 1, pack light! | | | Me and the Alamo, wearing my travel skirt! |
