My Latest Trip

Time and tide waits for no man. There is only so much time you have on your hands to travel. Pictures of places that you've taken may no longer be the same or it might cease to exist. Things change pretty quickly. Take for example the opening picture of the train track .

I've taken this picture a couple of years back. It has now been cast into the history books as the train station has been moved up north and these tracks that bear with it the history of Singapore since 1902, have been removed starting July 2011.

On another note, I was quoted by The Sunday Times in 2008 about my visits to Batam. In 2011 alone, I'd visited Batam three times.

On the local scene, let me introduce you to sugarcane drink. You should also try out the MRT trains. This is the most convenient mode of transport for you to use when you're staying in Singapore.

Outside of Singapore, I've visited Malaysia countless times since they are our neighbouring county. The latest trip was to Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Petaling Jaya and Genting.

Currently, my dream is to cover as many towns within Johore as possible. I would also love to visit the ASEAN countries that comprise of Singapore (My home country), Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Myanmar and Cambodia.

So far I've covered eight out of 10 (Including Singapore). Hope to cover the rest over the next couple of years, maybe more. I've also started a blog for visitors who would like to find out more about Singapore.

Places Visited

Australia - Brisbane, Cairns, Melbourne, Perth, Sydney
Brunei - Bandar Sri Begawan, Temburong
Cambodia - Siem Reap
China - Guangzhou, Shanghai, Shenzhen

Indonesia - Bandung, Batam , Bintan , Jakarta
Malaysia - Batu Pahat, Genting, Johor Bahru, Kempas, Kota Tinggi, Kluang, Kuala Lumpur, Kukup, Malacca, Muar, Pekan Nanas, Penggerang, Petaling Jaya, Putrajaya, Yong Peng

Great to See You Here

If you have not tried out the eclectic spread of food in Singapore, you have not experienced Singapore at all. Chinese Fried Prawn Noodles, Malay Satay, Indian Pratas, even western food; everything to whet your appetite. You don't have to fork out big bucks to try out these food. Just head to some place that is called "Food court".

Motto in Life

Travelling is a part of me - A form of Escapism whenever I need a break from work; A form of Learning from the people of whatever country that I visit; and A form of experiencing the varied lifestyle and culture whereever I go.

My First Travel Experience

It was an experience to cherish - My parents promised to bring my entire family for a trip to Los Angeles, USA if we did well for our studies. This was our chance to visit Disneyland and it was every child's dream! My two sisters and I of course aced our exams (That was practically the only time we aced it). And now my dream is to bring my family to Disneyland, once my little girl is a bit older.

My Travel Page

I'd visited Batu Pahat in Feb 08 and Malacca in Dec 07. Totally enjoyed it.

My wife and I also visited our neigbouring countries of Cambodia and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam in 2007. The latter, though chaotic in our eyes, seems to run like clockwork. Whether it's the setting up of stalls in the market, or a day trip.

Here're my entries for some of the countries I've visited with more entries to come.

Pengerang, Malaysia - A cycling trip with my office colleagues in Mar 2007
Krabi, Thailand
- A birthday treat for my daughter in Dec 2006

Things change and some places that I have visited previously would have not been the same, even if it's within a year. Thus, you will see that there'll be more entries for my current trips. For those trips that I've done within the last 10 years, I'd put in a couple of entries as well as it brings back sweet memory.

Anything beyond 10 years, it would stay in my memory bank as the places that I've been to may no longer be relevant to you. But I'll try to put in a picture or two.

In Singapore, guys who are deemed physically fit would need to go through two years of National Service. During our stint, we were expose to many thrills such as repelling, long marches and even swimming across river with strong under currents. Talk about excitement.
