Paris in two days | Sacre Couer at Montmartre |
My brother and I spent two days in Paris after leaving the Normandy area. It was my brother's first time and I hadn't been back to Paris in over 13 years. We had a fantastic time but definitely pushed ourselves a little too hard to see the city. I have no regrets but it took it's toll on us! The weather wasn't great the first day- cloudy, rainy and just plain gloomy. We made the best of it and focused on the Louvre for part of the day. Among the highlights of Paris was the famous tourist sights- Arc de Triumph, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, boat tour down the Seine, and the Champs Elysees. However, one of my favorite spots in Paris is Montmartre-this is a great little village on this lovely hill top marked by the famous Sacre Couer. |
| | Trocadero Square This has the best views of the Eiffel Tower and a must see at night. We had just walked miles and we were completely exhausted from sight-seeing all day, but it was the perfect ending to the night- seeing the Eiffel Tower glowing in purple hues. The twinkle lights came on for about 10 minutes (come on every hour) and was just amazing. |
My travel tips My travel tips are not going to be all that original considering the wealth of information on virtual tourist. We stuck to the touristy stuff. However, they do reflect my personal perspective/experience. Along with that- if you are planning a very short trip to Paris than you can see what can be done in just two days from my tips. |
