Wales is just what you picture it to be with it's rolling moorlands the glaciated mountain areas, male voice choirs, Funny place names, Rugby Union, Fantastic Castles, Abbeys, Medieval houses and old mining towns!
It is all that and a whole lot more, you don't have to mention the fantastic walking, cycling and boating there is horse riding, fishing and of course the best bit for me Castles, loads and loads of Castles there's a Castle round more or less every corner and if you can't see one, well your probably stood on one.
I hope to list here some of the best things to do and things that you must see if you visit Wales. Your not going to do them all in just one trip though so look at their location and see what you can do.
If your in South Wales then St Fagans is a fantastic look into welsh history and Caerphilly Castle is deffinatly one of the best Castles in the Uk if not the world.
North wales has some great Castles like Conwy and the wonderfull Cearnarfon as well but also some Fantastic Mountains, Lakes and Countryside.
Wales has many Old Public houses and Inns, all with a wealth of their own history and some great Architecture as well as some Great Food and Beer. Many offer lodgings at resonable prices and there are a great many of them, i have a lot on my pages but on this Wales page i hope to list just the best pubs restaurants and cafe's that can be found in the country.
Wales has been divided into 22 council areas since 1996 unfortunatly VT is behind and has the old County Divisions liseted with many places only listed under the UK some even not listed at all like Cowbridge which is quite a large town while listing some small hamlets.

Hi Gareth. Very informative page, I'm hoping to maybe visit Wales sometime next year. For now, I'm exploring Scotland - but am thinking about joining the national trust for all the benefits of visiting UK historic sights! Greetings from the desert / Jess
