"ROME, Italy" Rome by CJD68

This was the starting and ending city for my CONTIKI "Simply Italy" tour. I recall the shock at the chaos that Italians call driving. It is something you have to experience with your own eyes. The city and sites were hot and crowded, but this is ROME....so much of the Western World was influenced by the people who once walked the streets.

There is so much to do and see. Ancient history and the modern city are intertwined. Just head in any direction and you are bound to find something to see. Try it.

The city tour provided by Contiki included the Forum, Colosseum and the Vatican City. Once we were on our own, we strolled to the Spanish Steps and did some window shopping on the Via del Corso.
