"in Seattle, we don't tan; we rust" | The Space Needle and north side of Seattle |
yes it does rain a lot in seattle... although not as much as people think.. however, almost every time i plan to take some pictures of Seattle, it is either too windy or too rainy.. but i'm ok with that.. if it didn't rain so much, we wouldn't have all the beautiful trees that blanket the majority of western Washington... in all my travels, Seattle has one of the most beautiful skylines and views of mountains and water. the city is sandwiched between the frigid Elliot Bay and equally cold Lake Washington and Lake Union... in the near distance to the east are the volcanic Cascade Mountains (most notably Mt. Rainier) and looking west are the Olympic Mountains... the population is made up a very broad range of nationalities and that causes the occasional stir and conflict in the form of public demonstrations and SOMETIMES political riots.. however violent crime is not commonplace and in most areas of seattle, and one can feel quite safe walking around even at night... of course in every major city there are the bad areas but there is no reason to visit those particular parts of town.. |
