My first trip to Paris happened when I was 15. It was one of those ridiculous "See 5 countries in 8 days!" guided tours, so nearly everything was a blur. But that was when I fell irrevocably in love with Paris, which helped to determine the course my life would take. I went on to study French at university and take a master's degree in international business, both of which allowed me to study, work, and live in France for an extended period of time. The photos and memories on this page are collected from several visits between 1985 and 1994. There's so much to see and do in Paris -- it's not a destination where you can spend a few days and feel like you've seen it all. I still haven't taken the "sewer tour" or gone behind the scenes at the Opéra. There are acres of galleries in the Louvre I want to explore further, and I could spend hours soaking in the atmosphere at the Musée Rodin or admiring the interior of Sainte Chapelle. But I hope I've managed to convey a taste of Paris on these pages for you -- bon appetit!
