Chiang Mai Night Bazaar, is worth having a wander around even if you don't plan to buy anything. There is a mixture of the usual fake goods as well as northern and north eastern Thai hand woven fabrics. Unfortunately many of the big companies have cashed in on this. Do you really want to go to Mcdonalds, Burger King and Starbucks instead of trying cheap delicious Thai food?

Anusan Night Market is located near to the Chiang Mai Night Bazaar. There are market stalls here, but the majority of tourist's and Thais come here for the food. Plenty to choose from, most of which are set around a large Beer hall.

As the name suggests this only occurs on a Sunday. Stretching along a few blocks at the esatern end of Th Ratchadamnoen this is a collection of handicraft sellors. The quality is some of the best that I have seen in a long time. The prices are so reasonable that there is no need to bargain. There is a happy buzzy atmosphere. Whilst the market is held, the area is pedestrian only. Enjoyable experience to be able to walk around the old city. I have bought more here than anywhere else that I have been. If you are hungry, there are plenty of food stalls to choose from. 2pm-10pm.
