  • This year Prague Museum Night takes place on June 20th 2009.
    ------------
    From 2008 info:
"Prague Museum Night will offer well-established and succesfull model of previous years – unconventional night-time presentation of cultural heritage supplemented by multitude of various accompanying events. The fifth Prague Museum Night will again invite Prague citizens and tourists to attractive visit of many cultural institutions of the metropolis – museums, galleries, cultural monuments and other sites. The number of cultural institutions taking part at the Museum Night has been again expanded. This year, unparalleled number of 25 cultural institutions and 52 sites take part in the Prague Museum Night – and majority of them present new sites or exhibitions."

Admission to all sites which take part in the Museum Night is free as usual, with exception of City of Prague Museum, City Gallery Prague, and objects of Prague Information Service and Vysehrad National Cultural Monument – on these sites, symbolical admission fee is required.

Free travel during the Museum Night between the sites is provided by special museum bus lines of Prague Public Transport Co. Inc. Free travel is limited to special museum transport lines only. Central transfer point is again the Namesti Jana Palacha, where visitors can also get detailed information materials with maps of bus lines.

  • Next to the zoo is newly renovated Troja castle with the park.

Entry to the park is free, exposition in the castle is 120 CZK.

It is forbidden to take pictures inside, but I managed to catch some glimpse of the wonderful painting in big hall during some concert.

  • Author of Europe-wide known "Entropa" installation in Brussels - Mr. Cerny has several controversial sculptures.
One of the funny ideas is a 'copy' of the St. Vaclav statue. It is placed in the Lucerna passage not far from the original.

Things To Do: Bertramka - Mozart museum

  • When Mozart visited this villa it was "out of the city" countryside farm. Friends brought him here to finish "Don Giovanni" opera.

Even that now it is almost in the city center it is still oasis of quiet and romantic. During warm months there are concerts on the terrace or small hall of the museum. It is small museum with some interesting artifacts.

Close to ADEL metro stop. You can walk from there to Plzenska street, or take any tram at "Novy Smichov" shopping center, go one stop and then walk back. Orientation point - pink "Movenpick" hotel next to the tunnel. Take small street to the hill on the right side of the hotel building.
