"Oahu" Honolulu by tualborn

Chinaman's hat is a tiny island on the north coast of Oahu. You can easily swim there..and it is very picturesque in photos.

Iolani Palace

The only royal palace in the United States - Iolani Palace in down town Honolulu is a jewel well worth visiting. At times the Royal Hawaiian Band plays outside in the band's kiosk. The Palace is increadibly large and filled with historic artifacts. The last Queen was imprisoned there right before Hawaii became a territory of the USA. At times protesters that want to reclaim the island for the Hawaiian people occupy the grounds.

King Kamehameha statue and Court House

Kamehameha....School...shopping center...highway...a very popular name shortened as Kam i.e. as in Kam highway.
This king's statue is adorned on long fragrant flower leis on his celebrated birthday which is also a holiday in Hawaii-nei...King Kamehameha DAY...with parades and lot of ALOHA.
My grand kids graduated from the Kamehameha School - intended as a legacy for children of Hawaiian ancestry.
