| | About this author Hello!
My full name is Ang Guan Cheong, the family name is Ang. I have been living in Singapore since I was born (19 years).
My Father is Singaporean-Chinese while my mother is Indonesian-Chinese. I have an elder brother and he is currently serving the military.
As a student, I'm doing a Diploma in Supply chain Management. |
| | Travel bug There are 7 continents, hundreds of races, thousands of languges, million square kilometers of paradise and 8 billion people on Earth waiting to be seen, heard, touch, feel and taste! Why would somebody not want to get out of their comfort zone and take their first step into the Real World. |
| | Why a create a VT Travel guide? Well, almost 89.4% of all the travel guides available on the market are written for and by Americans, Europeans, Australians, New Zealanders etc. This might sound really quirky but I hope I can be the Asian version of Tony Wheeler.
Many a times when we are refering to our guidebooks, it seems to miss out on the quintessential information that we need. Partly because the book is either outdated and information given wrongly. That is why an onlie guide is much better because the infomation given is up to date, unbiased and you know that he/she is not being paid to report something good out of it.
Another reason why I want to create my own travel guide is because I want to promote domestic travel within my region -asia, to my regional travel mates. |
| | Hobbies and interests Like other members, I like to travel; get out of the country and see the REAL world but that requires money, something that's not well within reach being a student.
I love mountains, waterfalls and nature. It's alway a priority in my travels. Staying in metropolitan Singapore, it is a complete urban jungle. Everything is zooming past you so fast that taking a breather is almost impossible. Not only that, Singapore is ranked as the world's fastest walking nation.
Back at home, I cycle, swim and ... walk. To add to my resume, I just completed a Mini-Triathlon this July!
I practise Wing Chun, a traditional Chinese Martial Art. Being Chinese, I feel it is important that I keep in touch with my roots so I don't lose them to Globalisation. |
| | Global List of Friends I have started an initiative to get to know as many people from as many countries as possible.
