Ancient Olympic Ruins

Olympia is a small pretty town and I was surprised it was not bigger because of the visitors who flock to see the ruins.
I could only guess that most tourists do not stay overnight or longer.
We stayed at the Olympia Palace which was within walking distance to the ruins.

The Olympic ruins are very easy to stroll around and it does not take long before I imagined the Greek Olympians coming to life, running out onto the oblong track where they ran back and forth naked.
Standing at the original lighting place of the Olympic flame and the Temple of Zeus was surreal.

A very facinating place to visit if you are interested in the history of ancient
Olympia and the birth place of the olympic games.

Olympia is a pretty town,the main street is easy to stroll to get a feel of the town.

Pros and Cons

Pros:Ancient history in all it's glory.
Cons:Shop keepers hassling you to buy.
In a nutshell:Ancient ruins transformed.
